LIGHT SURGE IS PRESENT

SOUTHWEST NUSA PENIDA

Without a doubt Manta Point is one of the most famous dive sites in the entire Bali area. In fact, many people travel here each year just to dive with the Manta Rays. While it is situated on the South tip of Nusa Penida, this dive site is tucked into a small bay against stunning cliffs. Underwater, the dive site features a Manta Ray cleaning station at a depth of about 10 meters. From there the reef gently slopes out until it drops off to a sandy bottom.

The Manta Rays are definitely the main attraction at this site and they can be seen here all year long. Other types of marine life found here can include Wobbegong sharks, Bamboo Sharks, Blue-Spotted Stingrays, Eagle Rays and various common reef fish. Also if you are super lucky there is a Mola Mola cleaning station in the area too!

The conditions at Manta Point make this dive site one of the best places to dive in Nusa Penida. It is a relatively easy dive, generally quite shallow and with little to no current. There can however be some surge present at this dive site. Surge is very easy to dive in and we also brief everyone on techniques to use when diving in surge. Visibility can be a little unpredictable at this site, ranging between 5 and 25 meters due to the abundance of plankton in the water. Here this is a good thing as the Manta Rays feed on plankton!
